Stuck on freeway? Signs show train times

In an effort to encourage motorists to ditch their cars, Caltrans and Metrolink launched a pilot program that displays train and freeway travel times on electronic signs located near the Anaheim and Fullerton train stations along the northbound I-5 and westbound 91.

Winning signage employs digital technology to gauge drive time

headed west on Chandler Boulevard near Interstate 10 pass under digital overhead signs that have the ability to pick up signals emanating from an assortment of Bluetooth-enabled devices.  The resulting technology uses precise algorhythms to calculate time and distance to pre-established destinations.
